This geomorphic hazard happened by a earthquake under the Indian ocean that caused a 30 metre tsunami wave that was mainly caused by the tectonic plates moving and this is the first time this has happened in this area.

tsunami
The tsunami was caused by a huge earthquake under the Indian Ocean and the magnitude of the tsunami and earthquake was around 9.3 magnitudes and there was around 225,000 people that lost there life’s and homes because of the tsunami.
WhAt did they do when the tsumani came and what will they do in the future
When the tsumani came people were really surprised and they got scared. Most people got in there cars and drove away. Others hid in tall buildings and under objects such as a table or a chair. There was sirens to warn people but it just scared them even more.
In the future they will prepare by building storger building making them taller, living further from the ocean and they have senses under the water to know if it will happen again

This geomorphic hazard happened by a earthquake under the Indian Ocean. Which made many big waves making it a tsunami that hit many different country coastlines.
When and Where it happend?
The tsunami started in the Indian Ocean the hitting the coast lines of India, Maldives ,Shri Lanka and Thailand. It happend on the 26 of December 2004, making it the biggest and the Boxing Day tsunami.
